“The Next Tsunami” (check out link!) explores how we know what we know about plate tectonics, the science of earthquakes and tsunamis generally, and the Cascadia Subduction Zone in particular.
The book begins and ends in Seaside, arguably the Northwest town with the most to lose from what is often characterized as an “apocalyptic” disaster, and with Tom Horning, who grew up to become a geologist and who, in the early 1990s, returned to his family home at the mouth of the river in Seaside.
Bonnie Henderson is an award-winning author and journalist, primarily focused on exploring the intersection of the natural world and the human experience close to home. When she is not on the coast, she is at home in Eugene, Oregon. Bonnie will be joined by Tom Horning at her Tillamook County appearances.
